Cushioning: 9
Safety: 6.5
Weight: 7
Durability: 7.9
Style: 8.2
Overview: Adidas enters into the Ultra Luxury & Performance class with a bang. As a direct head to head competitor with the Nike Shox VC III, the Superstar Ultra is aggressively cheaper by $30 and offers nearly the same performance and comfort features. Full-length A3 cushioning offers impact protection on par of the Shox counterpart. The Superstar is more agile than the VC III and does not quite have the same bulky feeling. The styling is classic and elegant but probably a bit too conservative for this class where consumers often want to show off their high-priced kicks. The quality and overall built is excellent. The only gripe we have is that the upper could've been built a tad higher to offer better ankle support for the big men. Other than that, this is one of the best basketball shoe ever created by Adidas. Short Term Review. IMPORTANT: adidas has offered a recall for this shoe due to a problem with the a3 system that might be a safety hazard for players. While the likelihood is not great, it is safer to return these shoes to adidas to get a full refund or voucher for future adidas shoes.
