TOM RUSHBROOK Sunday, June 26, 2005
June 2005 - Air Jordan XXI | Jordan XXI
7.85 / 10 The essense of the shoe comes form the criss cross XXI pattern visible from the top view. This gives breathable and expandable areas of the shoe for increased thermal comfort and ergonomic fit. Big strap at the forefoot for lock down, closely followed by four more smaller straps to pull the foot into the shoe. At the rear, Tom created a clear TPU heel box with an embossed 'house of cards' pattern. The overall upper is full grain leather with a 3D mesh inner to further enhance breathability and fit. The air unit is inspired from the 180 to try to 'big up' the visible aspect of cushioning. Due to the large cut at the forefoot, the flex point is unrestricted aiding natural movement of foot roll.

CUBBY GOLDEN Friday, June 24, 2005
June 2005 - Air Jordan XXI | Jordan XXI
6.05 / 10 The Air Jordan XXI speaks for its self with the over all form and inspiration. Taking the ankle lock strap to the next level and alloying the player to wear for extra comfort with a lining of memory foam, or the player can simply take it off and still get that comfort. The sole use's the I.P.S. technology where the outside/inside traction is placed for better grip to balance out the balls of the foot and rear to give it that extra step.

RYAN HOLLER Monday, June 20, 2005
June 2005 - Air Jordan XXI | Air Jordan XXI
8.54 / 10 If the Ace Jack theme was a book report, then Ryan's Air Jordan XXI would get an A for meeting the theme's requirement. The Aviator card deck gives a vintage Flight feel to this flagship. The card table and poker chips inspires the sole of the XXI. If the table top stood for the basketball court, the chip would symbolize a basketball. Competition and aggression is the name of the game in both sports. Much of the shoe design is inspired by the grandiose carpet design at the various casinos around the country. Finally, but not least, click on the image to show an animated image of a step by step conversion from high to low top.

PLAMEN PETROV Sunday, June 19, 2005
June 2005 - Air Jordan XXI | Air Jordan XXI
6.22 / 10 Plamen's XXI was made by his passion for the Air Jordan XI. The shoe has a sole system called "GRAVITRAX" (based on acting of gravitation of the Earth and separate chambers with "supergases". The shoe at the ankle area can be flipped up or down - depending on the player's preference for flexibility or support.

PIETRO PELLICELLI Saturday, June 18, 2005
June 2005 - Air Jordan XXI | Air Jordan XXI
7.60 / 10 Detailed View of how this shoe came to be.
The cornerstone of the whole concept is the massive perfed phylon chassis. Inspired by the full lenght air sole units and from the Tubes Radiatori cooling/heating system designed by Satyendra Pakhale, it should provide lightweight flexible and cushioned ride in conjunction with inner visible through midsole IPS units. Also the upper is designed to perfectly flex in armony with foot movements (would you say FREE???).
Another strong point should be the outsole where rubber studs, such as in track and field spiked shoes, fill the midsole holes to provide plenty of traction and added cushioning; underneath main IPS pods are placed herringbone pattern rubber discs to emphasize traction.

ARSEN ROCK Friday, June 17, 2005
June 2005 - Air Jordan XXI | Jordan XXI King
5.80 / 10 We ask for Ace Jack but Arsen gives us the King (it's hard to argue that about MJ) or at least what happens 'when Frankenstein meets the King'. What a mad science experiment this is. We see clues from the AJ VII, XI, XX, King Frank and a baseball. This is apparently Arsen's last submission so it looks like he's going out with a bang. Included is the low top version of the XXI.

ADIS GACEVIC Thursday, June 16, 2005
June 2005 - Air Jordan XXI | Air Jordan XX1
5.19 / 10 Adis returns for a 2nd time with this Jordan XXI render. It looks as if the lace cover is the central theme of the shoe along with perforated breathing holes that dominate the side design. There are definitely some part of this shoe that works well but the overall feel is still lacking some Jordanesque character.

KRYDO DESIGN Tuesday, June 14, 2005
June 2005 - Air Jordan XXI | Air Jordan XXI
6.29 / 10 The AJ XXI uses a floating ankle lock system mechanically similar to that of the XX and visually similar to the Air Jordan I
The midsole is sculpted away to reduce weight, but a fiber-glass impregnated TPU shank stiffens the part
The lacing system allows the metatarsals to spread out and gives the player room to comfortably wear the shoe on as well as off the court. This lacing system is supportive accross the top of the instep and utilizes medial and lateral wings in conjunction with the midsole outsole system to create stability during cutting.
An external TPU heel counter provides a stable base and shows the "Ace Jack" logo
The radial lateral tread pattern is molded of a sticky compound of silicon rubber to enhance cutting
