June 2006 - Air Jordan XX2 | Air Jordan XXII
6.51 / 10 Somewhat inspired by the Jordan XII, the main focus of the XXII is stability. The TPU injected heel counter, the rear looping strap and the reinforced upper act in synergy to offer maximal support for the player. The rear looping strap represents Michael Jordan’s love of golf. It is inspired by the swing motion of a golf club. The checkered nubuck upper allows better flexibility yet can be reinforced in certain areas for increased stability. It also acts as a personal atmosphere similar to the sphere tech found in many Nike shoes allowing cooler performance in the heat yet more isolation during cold or rainy days.

 June 2006 - Air Jordan XX2 | Jordan XXII
5.30 / 10 The main focus was to keep the shoe flowing, Arches meet other arches,
Skeleton structure wraps around underneath. I wanted to do a clean upper
sticking with the jordan brands current identity. I used a different colour
then typically found on the Jordan's to help bring a fresh take rather then
the typical standards. The Breathable mesh pattern on the inside helps add
texture and creates a layer to help wisk away the sweat from the foot. The
skeleton structure creates depth but also allows for a lighter fabric to be
used with out affecting the structure of the shoe. The outsole wraps around
to the top to help protect the toes and creates a structure for the toe box.

5.61 / 10 Encouraging power, energy, and talent, the shoe represent the burst of magma.
This simple yet effective design gives us a feel of the old school days with the likes of the XIII white/red.

 June 2006 - Air Jordan XX2 | Jordan XXII
5.52 / 10 Like all Air Jordans, the XXII provides a look into the future of what is to come in the basketball shoe industry. The XXII features a new lacing system, polyurethane lateral supports, and a lock down midfoot support system. The XXII was inspired by Michael Jordan's recent venture into motorcycle racing. The polyurethane lateral supports enhance stability, fit, and control. An inner bootie provides uncompromised comfort while streching lycra midfoot straps lock the individuals foot into place. Each support locks into a chrome anchor. Ankle support is provided by a set of laces while the ankle notch allows for a complete range of motion. The lateral supports wrap to the bottom of the sole resulting in a smooth transition and adds extra traction while also serving as a housing device for the carbon fiber shank plate. The middle of the sole wraps to both the front and rear and resembles a high performance motorcycle tire. Click here for more details.

June 2006 - Air Jordan XX2 | Air Jordan XXII
6.03 / 10 The shoe is inspired by Michaels latest venture, motorcycle racing. The shoe
was created to have a
low to the ground stance similar to racing boots. It also features a carbon
fiber arch for rigidity while
making quick cuts. Perf's (22) in the ankle area provide breathability. The
side panel resembles a motorcycle tire making a sharp turn at high speeds.
An inner bootie with techflex materials provide support all around the foot.
The shoe also features seamless construction. In all, this next AJ provides
the flexibility and stability you look for in a high performance shoe.
