February 2007 - Rising Suns | Nike TRS
         6.96 / 10 My
vision of it was to create the first signature shoe but for a team ,
not the player . I wanted the shoe to have some unique style , decided
all by the team . And I'm really happy you choose Phoenix Suns for
theme , because if there is a team, not just winning team , but team
that celebrates the game of basketball, it is Phoenix ! So I
tryed to add some speific feautures in it - a Solar system lines
in the quarter upper mesh side , an Arizona Mountain King snake
textured leather in the forefoot straps , a Sun inspired vent system
near the heal . Because all of the different needs for the players of
the team , I decided to put it all in the upper , and just mixing the
sole systems (I use Shox and Air cushioning , for both Force and
Uptempo styles ) for the shoes , so to get a total team
package of shoes . This way , the whole team can wear a specific team
shoe , but fitting all the needs the position of the player require
.Amare Stoudemire, Shawn Marion and Steve Nash , as leading figures for
Nike's Force , Flight and Uptempo series , were the obvious choices for
the styles of the shoes . In the low-ut Uptempo variant , the ankle
strap is replaed by a moveable laceholders , that naturally comes from
the upper solar detail.

February 2007 - Rising Suns | Air Flight SN
8.03 / 10 The Air Flight SN continues the Nike Flight legacy of
lightweight performance.
The shoe takes inspiration from a variety of sources.
I took some architectural cues found on the Guggenheim
Museum NY and Allianz Arena in Germany and applied
them to the vamp and lateral portion of the forefoot.
The mid-foot support structure was inspired by
goalkeeper gloves. The Nash crest was inspired by the
club crest of Nash's favorite soccer club growing up,
the Tottenham Hotspur.
The shoe has a variety of features to help the
two-time MVP cut like a knife and fly on the
fast-break. One of the features is a "space-age"
support structure that keeps the foot locked-down
without the need for laces. It basically self-adjusts
to provide a customized fit.

 February 2007 - Rising Suns | Nike Flight-SOHEE
6.39 / 10 The Nike Flight-SOHEE is a shoe designed for basketball players looking for
an efficient confort in their game.
First I decided to focus on resistance and lightweight using some materials
like FULL-GRAIN-LEATHER for the strap,
PATENT-LEATHER for the toecap and MESH for the rest of the upper. The
large black carbon-fiber stripe is here
to offer a good stability, it maintains correctly the foot in the shoe in
addition to the ajustable strap which locks the ankle.
I included the visible MAX AIR bag on the heel to provide a better comfort
during the game.
I wanted to include discreetly the purple and orange colors which reminds us
the SUNS's jersey.
Moreover I did an example of a limited edition based on the "Air-Jordan
Brand" experience.

February 2007 - Rising Suns | De la Soleil
8.13 / 10 Inspired by Shawn marion, one of the most versatile players in the league, the De la Soleil features a full length Air Max unit encapsulated in an organically designed eva midsole for superior heel-to-toe cushioning and stability. The upper showcases an anodized 360 lateral reinforcement structure, adjustable ankle strap and padded dri-fit foot sleeve with a subtle sublimated jaguar print. I have also included a few additional colorways and rough sketches to showcase the design process.

February 2007 - Rising Suns | Matrix Ignition Trainer
5.35 / 10 In order to get it done on the court, you must first get it done off the court. This is where the Nike Matrix Igntion Trainer comes in. Designed for the Phoenix Suns' star foward, Shawn 'The Matrix' Marion, this performance trainer shoe has raised the bar. Inspired by Marion's speed and athleticism, the Matrix Ignition is truly a minimal performance trainer that offers comfort, stability, and a lightweight feel for those hard training days. The shoe features a breathable mesh upper, BRS carbon rubber outsole, and a lightweight phylon midsole combined with a high density rubber heel cushioning unit for optimal impact absorption. In addition to these features, the Matrix Ignition Trainer has an overall simplistic, clean look with the added touch of the flame graphic for that extra flare.

February 2007 - Rising Suns | Nike Cerberus
5.98 / 10 The three-headed beast that once guarded the gates oh hell has
returned. This time the beast comes in the form of three players
dominating the courts. The Nike Cerberus gives tribute Phoenix's
Cerberus: Nash, Marion, and Stoudemire. The shoe was designed to have
a clean look so that it shines on the court and looks good with a pair
of jeans. The shoe is constructed from full grain leather on a
mid-sole inspired by the Nike Shox. Leather patterns of the upper
where designed to naturally bend with the player's foot, while
perforations allow for excellent breathe ability.

 February 2007 - Rising Suns | Steve Nash 13
4.87 / 10 The concept is based on the zoom air technology, integrated in the internal foam midsole and
presents on the upper a PU collar as seen on the nike PRESTO line that gives more comfort and protection at the heel.
The upper, than is covered by the leather and has doubled stitching line that give the shoe durability and a good look.

February 2007 - Rising Suns | Air Zoom Nash
6.45 / 10 The Shiba Inu (smallest of the Japanese native breeds of dog), was the inspiration for the Steve Nash's signature shoe concept. Japanese describe the Shiba as brave and bold combined with composure and mental strength. They have cat-like agility and resilience provide good resistance to injury and are?able to withstand the rigors of outdoor life. Similar to what Steve Nash endures in the NBA.

February 2007 - Rising Suns | Nike Jet Flight
4.84 / 10 My entry is a remake of the Nike Jet Flight's, which were worn by Steve Nash
for several years. I felt that the relatively low cut style, the light
weight, and the lateral support were the important elements I wanted to
incorporate from the original.
The main technology used is Free in the forefoot, which would be very light
weight and comfortablel, and max air which is found at the heel. For
support, an area with a plastic insert runs up the side of the foot, and the
laces attach to a second plastic structure.
