This project was inspired by the Chicago
Bulls Dynasty from the 90's. I thought about how
these Bulls teams, aside from MJ and Pip, were often
composed of average players who made little impact on
other teams at different points in their careers. Led
by Phil Jackson and his implementation of Zen, The
Bulls were always able to function as a symbiotic
unit: individuals within the whole working together to
achieve the ultimate goal. That led to me to thinking
about how it could apply to footwear, and all of the
existing technologies we have seen developed over the
past 20 years. Often a great shoe has one excellent
component, only to fall short in other areas.
In an attempt to gain new ground in the
basketball footwear category, up-and-coming
performance brand, Under Armour, pulls out all the
stops, branching away from football and baseball to
develop a high-tech product strictly for the NBA
hardwood that infuses and evolves several existing
technologies into one symbiotic, living and breathing
super shoe. The L.A.B.
The L.A.B. leaves no stone unturned,
combining stand-out technologies like Foamposite, DMX,
Puma Disc and Adidas 1 to offer the ultimate hoops
shoe with automated and adjustable fit and cushioning.

For the concept of a dynasty, my first thought was of the Converse Weapon
worn in the days of Bird and Magic. I eventually decided that instead of
focusing on a single classic, I would incorporate several into a single-
unbranded shoe. I went back to Bill Russell and low top Chuck Taylors, then
to the Weapon, then the Jordan XIV, and lastly with the Adidas CC Duncan.
My overall intent for this concept was to make a piece of footwear that
would be unique and fun.

The Miami Heat team announces a new dynasty in the championship of
the NBA for the upcoming years. This shoe will accompany these players for better performances and comfort, with a system of lacing in spiral including the totality of the foot of which tightening is made in a mechanical way. At the same time sober and aggressive, it raises the colors of the team in lines and forms evoking refined technologies, and brings the possibility of personalizing the side parts of the shoe. The 57'- 69' Celtics where the dynasty of all dynasties. They won 11
NBA titles in just 13 years, including 8 in a row. In American
professional sports no other team has ever won 8 consecutive titles. To
celebrate this dynasty I designed a modern basketball shoe symbolic the
Celtic's feats. I designed a shoe based upon the rubber toed shoes
players where wearing at the time. I took the retro styling and applied
modern technology. The shoe is all leather, featuring padding around
the Achilles and ankles. Perforations on the side allow for the shoe to
breathe, while a segmented mid-sole/ out-sole allow the foot to bend and

Description: When i think about the Lakers, i think about Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and coach Pat Riley winning five titles in the that span, with 3 championship series against their arch-rivals, the Boston Celtics and coach Phil Jackson, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal who brought three straight championships. For those 2 great generations i have created a shoe that combines the classic feeling of the early 1980's Lakers with a modern technology.
The lines of the basketball ,which is the logo of the Lakers inspired me for the design of the shoe.
The shoe is made of full-grain leather upper with with TPU lining and imprinted logos.
The technology embedded in the midsole is at the same time a great cushioning and a super ventilation system. The Spongeosphere is made of 5 vents ( 2 on each side of the midsole and one in the back) that allows the air to enter or exit. From the vents, the air travels into a solid gel sponge that acts like a pump and at the same time like a cushion. Finally, from the sponge, the air is pumped in or out the interior of the shoe through the holes of the airomatrix insole ,when you step. See details of the Spongeosphere here.

Because of MJ, because of the Chicago Bulls, I loved this game and became a NBA fan. So I want to make a design for the Bulls dynasty. When I saw the Bulls dynasty theme, the first sneaker jumping into my mind is the AJ 11. The AJ is no doubt one of the greatest sneaker design ever. So I make this design to show respect to the AJ 11 and also the Bulls dynasty. The design is inspired by AJ 11. The 6 gems on the upper of the shoe means the 6 NBA championships the Bulls brought to Chicago.
