By the time kg it's a kind of a classic and a place to be , for all creative shoeheads, as a shoe-brand, i think would fit more to an old school in new form & style design. October 2007 - KG Logo | KG Prince
5.63 / 10 The KG PRiNCE is - Fashion Statement. It is its own category in the evolution of footwear. The PRiNCE draws from many influences: Snowboard, Dress, Basketball, Skate, and Casual. Yet, it fits into none of them. This shoe screams, “Look At Me!” And then it will force the reaction of, “What Are Those?” Many will hate them..... But, for the few trendsetters out there that love the pursuit of new crazy styles – The KG PRiNCE will be the next “Have To Own” shoe.

 October 2007 - KG Logo | The 10
7.62 / 10 When approaching this project, I tried to think about what
Kicksguide is. Words like designer, sneaker freak, custom, and
creativity all came to mind. I continued this brainstorm and
realized that this board is made up of designers and sneaker
enthusiasts using their creativity to design the perfect shoe. In
Kicksguide terms, a 10. Using the number 10 as inspiration for
this project, I found two key forms of inspiration.
The first form of inspiration came from the Ascari A10. The Ascari
A10 uses carbon fiber body work which is also used in the heel
counter of my shoe. I was also interested in its sculpted rear air
intake which also inspires the form of the heel counter and the idea
of the breathable mesh on the side of the shoe.
The element neon, which has the atomic number 10 on the
periodic table of the elements, served as the second set of
inspiration. Neon signs are most visible at night, which is why I
chose a mainly black shoe with pops of neon and a neon sole.
Finally, there are 10 segments on the upper. Because a 9 has been
the highest rating so far, I left the top segment lycra. This
separates its importance from the other segments.
The Kicksguide logo is derived from the letters KG and the number
10.

October 2007 - KG Logo | KG Growth Pack
6.75 / 10 Kicksguide represents a place of growth for young designers to practice and hone their skills that will lead to the accomplishment of their goals. I felt that the KG logo should reflect that. Thinking deeply about the meaning of KG lead me to think about breaking the design process down and thinking about how KG represents all of the emotion in this process.
I have always felt that design is a circle. It's a continuous path that has no one direct route you are constantly going back and forth between three areas of design: The Creation & Refinement; the Purchase & Manufacturing; and the Inspiration & Research of the product. As I began to break down these thoughts I realized that it is what you gain from this process that matters; The Growth.
I represented the Growth with a circle KG logo that is placed in the focal point of the shoe design. I designed 3 shoes that are metaphors for the growth of a young designer. A Lifestyle; a Trainer; and an Ultimate Performance Basketball shoe.
As a designer starts out they are minimal and subtle with their approach afraid to try new things. So they use techniques that they are familiar with to create their product. This is represented in the KG L/S (Lifestyle.) A vulcanized rubber sole with a clean spacer mesh upper and internal webbings for a hidden lacing system.
As they train and practice they grow bolder with their color and material choices and expand on ways of holding the foot in. The KG T/R (Trainer) features a dual strap system that connects to a TPU Chassis to lock the foot down. A full spacer mesh upper inspired by sprinting shoes and a molded heel counter to hold the foot in.
All of these shoes come together to speak as a pack. They all feature circle embossing that ties back to the idea of design being circular path. The logos are placed only in the areas that are focal point of the design to allow the young designer a clean canvas to work out their thoughts.
Check out the logo and details.

October 2007 - KG Logo | KG Perusal
6.21 / 10 The KG Perusal is merely a vehicle for the logo. I was focused more on creating a versatile identity to be used, not only on the website and shoe but also on hats, shirts and things of that nature. The styling of the logo is reminiscent of various athletic team logos (eg. KC Royals). Considering the fact that kicksguide is dedicated to athletic footwear, it only made sense to reference sports teams. As far as the Perusal is concerned, I took subtle design cues from internet browsers ( the back button, borders, bars, etc.). The lines on the shoe really serve as a frame for the logo...which is the focal point.

 October 2007 - KG Logo | KG1
4.91 / 10 This is the Kicksguide KG1. It is a basketball shoe that represents simplicity without compromising performance. A light-weight Ricochet cushioning system softens landings while lending responsiveness, and FlexGuide, a torsional control chassis, guides the foot in stability. A full-grain leather upper sits up top, a solid rubber outsole down low, and a poly-mesh inner bootie hugs the middle.
The KG logo is a motion-inspired representation of the letters KG, kept simple and straight-forward while remaining dynamic.
