2008 1st Theme - Lebron Soldier

I designed this shoe thinking of the Lebron James' powers, his force, his endurance and his agility. I tried to combine these qualities in the shoe. The whole upper is made of leather but the most important part of the shoe is the midsole where i imagined an elastic system around the middle of the foot able to tighten it into the shoe, a zoom air cushionning allover the midsole to give a perfect amortizes and a better endurance during the run,and finally a strap around the ankle to tighten the foot for an efficient agility.

2008 1st Theme - Lebron Soldier

Nike LeBron Soldier: Nightvision

Nightvision goggles are an important peice of equipment for any soldier when heading out to the battlefield. As LeBron takes on defenders he see's passes, open lanes, opportunities as though he's wearing Nightvision goggles and everyone else isn't, a soldier well prepared in the heat of the battle. The Soldier:Nightvision ankle strap around the heel was inspired from actual night vision goggles and how they strap around the head. Since this is generally an outdoor basketball shoe I felt it important to continue the use of a strap so the player feels secure. The mesh upper provides the player with a lightweight yet durable feel. The colourway has been taken from the colours of the actual nightvision image, and the pin stripe stitching has been inspired by Lebrons team, the Yankees.

Lebron James has a spirit of a soldier, he is brave and fears no one in the NBA. He possess a heart of a knight and for that reason my main inspiration for this month Artist Series (Lebron Soldier) came from the Medieval style and the Armour the soldiers were wearing before going into war.

2008 1st Theme - Lebron Soldier

The design of the sneaker is based on the M16 tactical weapon also known as AR-15 (civilian version). M16 is one of the most widely used rifles in the U.S. forces. The concept revolves around the idea of customizing the sneaker to your needs and wants. Just like the rifle, which has a lot of optional equipment available for it, the shoes can quickly change from basketball sneakers to trainers. Both midfoot and ankle straps are independently removable. The midfoot strap attaches to the sneaker by the means of snapping into a slot in the outsole. The ankle strap connects directly to the tongue, goes through the eyelets in the collar and wraps around the athlete's ankle. The sneaker has tough lines and rounded corners typical to the Lebron James footwear.

2008 1st Theme - Lebron Soldier

The name of this Lebron Soldier line sneaker comes from one of the robots in TRANSFORMERS the movie – Bonecrusher. When I see the scheme of this month, I want to make something that feels like a Lebron shoe. One thing that I’m impressed with Lebron James is that he always can shoots the ball into the basket even two or there players are pulling him. his strength and wildness reminds me a scene from the movie – during the chase on the highway, one bus is hit by Bonecrusher and splits in two. Because of this scene, Bonecrusher becomes my favorite transformer. I think the big claw is really cool and it give me inspiration. 2008 1st Theme - Lebron Soldier

Lebron Soldier Samurai

This Lebron Soldier design is inspired by the ancient Japanese samurai warrior. Viewing the shoe as both a weapon and as protection out on the court (battlefield), the Lebron Soldier Samurai is all about function and performance, similar to the samurai warrior and his weapons. It features a lightweight, breathable upper accompanied by an adjustable velcro ankle strap for superior lockdown. A rigid TPU piece offers sidewall support and a snug fit in the forefoot area as it runs up into the lacing system. Also, where creasing and stress problems are likely to occur in this forefoot region, integrated flex grooves have been added for maximum performance. Finally, both insoles display the symbol for the Japanese samurai heraldry, representing honor, loyalty, and most important of all – VENGEANCE.

Lebron Soldier 30-7-7 Concept

The Lebron Soldier 30-7-7 Concept is a celebration of Lebron James's averaging over 30ppg, 7rpg and 7apg. The design is based on the US armored combat vehicles STRYKER by General Dynamics Combat Systems. The STRYKER a modern ACV which is neither heavy nor light, but rather an attempt to create a force that can move infantry to the battlefield quickly and in relative security which can also descripe the 30-7-7 Concept as: Fast, All Rounded and Protection. The STRYKER can alter the pressure in all eight tires to suit terrain conditions: highway, cross-country, mud/sand/snow, and emergency. Although the 30-7-7 may not able to alther the pressure of it's sole, it still can perform at Hardwood, Street, Dust/Sand/Snow by the well proven herringbone grip, and just in case you are in a hurry, it will not not let you down. The 30-7-7 also has a full length zoom air unit for quick response and comfort with the protection of a full length carbon fibre plate and a EVA sole. Lets move on the the mid sole, the upper is simple leather gives a high level of comfot with nothing fancy along with a small touch up of the front jewel. The side and back is where the technology comes in. The heel of the 30-7-7 is support by a heel support plate which have more then dozens of vents which acts as moisture dispenser and also keep your foot cool. The protective panels which are made out of Foamposite material are to give more protection and wrap around the user foot as he/she tighten the laces. The Laces are cover by a Lace cover, which keeps your sneaker nice and sleek and also help your laces being clean! The tongue which is also, a 1/2 inner bootie is stiched with the LION logo to remind who's signature shoe you are wearing.

The Zoom Lebron VI is fit out with Zoom Air System for more shock absorber, a carbon-fibre plate for more tonicity, a Lycra Huarache slipper for more confort and an ankle strap for more bearing . Those forms are inspired by power, precision and explosiveness of the playstyle praticed by King James . It's the perfect weapon for Lebron Soldier to help him to win each game .

The Lebron Soldier III is designed for the summer game. A highly breathable yet durable three dimensional rubber mesh makes up most of the quarter panel. The shoe features a leather upper with tpu from heel to midfoot for support and a tpu toe for further durability. It is Nike's standard issue for blacktop hoops.

2008 1st Theme - Lebron Soldier

Taking cues and information from Lebron's biography led toward identifying a more psychological approach toward this soldier design. I focused on one area of Lebron's life (childhood), which informed me as to what made him mentally strong (soldier) and equipped for adulthood. His childhood was never quite stable, moving from one place to another and never being fully acclimated with his surroundings until he met his core group of support and strength. Lebron credits his 5 friends/ stepbrothers toward him becoming- the soldier he is today. Using the notion of 5, I developed this shoe to pay homage toward his core group of strength (S.C.-D.J.III-W.M.-R.T.-F.Jr). Embedded in this design are features and details which speak about-Strength, Durability, Structure, Freedom, Security, Identity, History and Experiences, all which helped develop him into the KING.

LeBron. The Legend. The King. The Soldier. The Zoom Lebron Soldier 08 is inspired by the roman soldier and their selfless attitude to serve a greater good, a quality easily witnessed in the unselfish play of LeBron. The King can singlehandedly take over games and even championship series' by an unstoppable show of power. But in the same breath, he willingly serves his franchise by making timely decisions giving up the rock to set up teammates for game winning shots. This shoe focuses on the latter taking cues from designs in the Roman Soldiers helmet all the way down to their footwear. From the ground up, the shoe features the zoom air system for less weight and maximum responsiveness. The inner bootie, inspired by the sandals or the Roman soldier provide a lightweight, non-restrictive brace for the ankle and foot. The straps of the shoe being inspired by the armor of the Roman soldier are not fastened by velcro but by laces much like the soldier. The reflective plastic heel and gold trim on the straps are inspired by the elegant details found on the helmet and armor of the soldier. The heel cup provides extra lateral support while also giving the shoe an extra flash factor. The shoe intended for the summer warriors of the playground. Do Your Part. Play Your Game.
