Congratulations to Ryan Holler on winning the T-MAC IV contest. adidas Basketball will fly him to Orlando, Florida to meet with Tracy McGrady in person. We'll keep you updated with his journey.

Ryan approached this design with 3 goals: 1. To make the shoe look like a logical continuation of the T-Mac line. 2. To design a shoe that's creative, yet logical, with no element of the
design (except for branding) being included for mere aesthetics.
3. To include a unique feature that has not really been seen in a sneaker before. Attention to detail is so precise you can see down to the adidas logo at the insole.

Richard's inspiration comes from the Corvette Stingray. To keep the T-Mac cool, he incorporated the "Climacool Shark Gill" system, which helps to dissipate heat out of the side of the shoe..much like an exhaust on a car. The medial side of the shoe is perforated near the ankle area to aid in cooling as well. For extra ankle protection, there is an "Adi-wall" on the medial side of the ankle, which helps prevent ankle inversion. The torsion system is hidden to help the overall clean look of the shoe. Also notice the lizard-silver texture that give this shoe a high luxury performance look.

Using the well tuned a3 technology, and hidden midsole technique, Zenith have created a new smoother looking design while still keeping adidas' technologies.
This design speaks in the previous Mac languages. Such as the 3 lines running along the upper collar, and the lines running from the arch area. This shoe breathes the strong lines, boxiness and minimalism that is Adidas chosen style. Specs include visible torsion support running up lateral side; perfs on medial side; ClimaLite Bootie/ sock-linning; and chromed eyelets

Pep returns with a super light-weight TMAC featuring a TPU shell at the rear that functions as heel counter/ stability construction / arch support/ and torsion system all at once. It also includes climacool ventilation openings. The rubber sole is divided in strips to save weight and to make it super-flexible and responsive. Three strips come up on the side of the nose, to provide stability for hard cuts. The upper passes through the heel and the opening also functions as a shockabsorber for heel impacts.

Dylan's shoe draws inspiration from T-Mac's dynamic playing style. The one large stripe wraps completely around the shoe to provide extra style and support so T-Mac can feel free to slash to the basket. The partial lace cover and virtually seamless upper provide comfort while the midfoot support structure and low profile cushioning provide excellent court feel. The design brings a modern feel to adidas' trademark Three Stripes. The carefully hand drawn design is clean and has the feel of a computer generated image.

Jamien's TMAC 4 features a 3/4 length torsion, carbon fiber reinforced
shank/arch support, a TPU heel/ ankle support with memory foam and a revolutionary lacing system
called Turnstyle. The
upper features three inset micromesh vents, with two "exhaust" vents in
the rear of the shoe to provide a climacool-like feel. The medial side and sole of the shoes go hand in hand with the upper to provide a complete look.

Plamen's TMAC Elevation prominently features the adidas 3 stripes. They are made of perforated plastic material (shiny or semitransparent), which gives the forefoot additional support and at the same time allows superb ventilation. The rearfoot uses a hidden heel counter which is further strengthened due to the perforations of the back stripes. Through them you can see the inner bootie. The overall visual design is strikingly noticeable despite its simplicity. The colors may also be an alternative for a Lady TMAC edition.

Peterflight's Tmac4 feature an improved a3 forefoot cushioning system, specifically designed for fast and active players. The upper is made of leather and presents toe and side areas made with transparent synthetic material. Ankle coverage was also improved, while the colorway is the classic white/blue and grey.

James' TMAC 4 features a leather/mesh inner bootie to allow for
durability at the toes and breathability for the top
of the foot. This bootie is surrounded by a
non-stretch synthetic wrap. Blue piping adds reinforcement to
compensate for hard cuts. The midsole of the T-Mac 4
features a Climacool/Ultraride bridge under the
midfoot to increase torsional rigidity and
breathability under the foot, where a lot of heat is
stored. Lateral and medial scoops in the midsole
channel air into the midfoot chamber and cool the foot
down as you run.

The TMac 4 is a much sleeker and lighter shoe than before, this reflects his character and the way he plays the game. The heel uses the triple stack technology, three individual carbon fiber plates stacked up to give Tracy a little extra bounce in his step. The upper is capped off with the big strap baring Tracy's logo on top, letting everyone know this is Tracy Mcgrady's shoe. The shoe's overall design has clean but technical feel to it, the bottom was inspired by Indy racing tires, for its speed and traction.

Sotiris comes up with a design that is surely to drop some jaws if not scratch their heads. The colorful TMAC Infinite 2004 features the Infinite system as well as traditional adidas adiPrene+ & Torsion system. The a3 at the hell blends in perfectly with rest of the shoe. The upper is quite busy but seems to involve an elastic system for fully maximized comfort and fit. The system may not be practical or even technically possible, but the innovation and imagination deserves an A for effort.

Chris's inspiration was Tracy himself. TMAC's logo is incorporated the design of the shoe itself. It has a TPU Arch wrap with 3 Velcro straps as the logo (very innovative approach, look carefully or you'll miss it). Ankle cut out for better mobility and higher on the medial side for anti-role protection. Solid rubber outsole with #1 on back of shoe. Adidas logo support wing on the forefoot. The shoes also feature internalized AdiPRENE midsole, and carbon fiber shank for rigidity.

Jeong's TMAC 4 proves that simplicity is the key to a cutting edge design. The various styling cues flow from front to side and side to rear. The adidas elements such as the shell-toe and three stripes are apparent in subtle ways. The overall result is a clean flowing pair of shoes that is sure to make a statement on the courts.

Ruben's rendering is a modern design with a zipper that hides the lacing system. The tongue area exposes the inner bootie while the rear features a pull up loop for leverage. The stripes strikes a resemblance to past TMac and the overall height of the shoe should improve on the ankle support issues of the past.
