Are you an artist? Do you love to design and render shoes? If so, then this place is devoted to you.

Congratulations to Tony Hardman on winning the Freestyle contest. His design will be one of the finalists for the Artist Series Rendering of the Year.
Tony Hardman Submitted by Tony Hardman Tony intended this as an indoor hoops shoe designed for the elite members of TEAM Jordan. Not quite an Air Jordan, but a flagship shoe for the new leaders in the League. This model features hoods over the instep that can be unsnapped and flipped down to access a variable width lacing structure composed of over 32 different lacing options. The shoe is tech-driven with a TPU heel stabilizer and synthetic leather toebox with molded flex channels to minimize creasing. It draws design cues from past Jordans and speaks to the true Jordan demographic through a combination of elegance and performance. Can we say... WOW?
Joe Im BIOGLIDE Submitted by Joe Im The shoe is inspired by the organic forms and shapes of the natural world - think of plants, insects and cells. You can also think of the shoe as a descendent of the Hyperflight and Air Huarache, in terms of light-weight performance. The Air Zoom Bioglide was created to be the lightest hoops shoe to date. This is achieved through a skeleton-like construction in the upper, that provides fit and support with a minimal use of material.
Zenith Oakley Submitted by Zenith Chance Oakley is to eyewear what Nike is to footwear. But as they tread into each other's territory, both companies failed miserably thus far. Following Oakley Design, Zenith created a very organic futuristic shoe. It contains many details that Oakley normally incorporate in its products including certain perforations and patterns. This Flightposite-like design may have just what it takes to push Oakley into the mainstream basketball market.
Ryan Holler Razerbacks Submitted by Ryan Holler After his trip to adidas Village in Portland, Ryan found some time to come up with a freestyle submission. Nothing against Pro hoops and NBA flavors of the past, but he thought a college team shoe might be an interesting change. The shoe is rendered almost entirely with Prismacolor soft-lead pencils. Photoshop was used only on the background, the Razorback logo, and the "adidas" on the tongue. The design is meant to have broad appeal to all types of players, as needed for any team shoe. He did what he'd like to see adidas do with their a3 technology, which is extend the structures up from beneath the foot, to also work as part of the upper.
Jamien Sills Submitted by Jamien Sills Why wait for the Air Jordan XX? Jamien Sills already have the Jordan XXX down pat. Look forward 10 years and you have a shoe that has no ... heel counter? The extreme cut out at the back puts the Huarache line to shame. The lacing system has a triple XXX for quick lacing. While the overall shape and design may not be practical, this XXX design is the freestlye concept at its best.
Jimi Taylor Submitted by Jimi Taylor Last but not least... the "Next Wave" of Nike technology has arrived. The name of the shoe is derived from the 3 "armoured plates" that give the shoe its structure. The material that forms these plates is itself called armourposite. It is a sandwich of 2 layers, with the inner most layer being of standard foamposite material. The foamposite is deployed at key areas of the shoe, allowing it to mould to the wearer's toes and ankle for maximum comfort. The top layer is finished in matte plastic armour. This provides great rigidity and strength, meaning only the minimal material need be applied to the upper.
Wayne Russell Climacool Submitted by Wayne Russell If summer freestyle is the rage, Wayne Russell hit it right on the spot with the adidas Climacool concept. This ready for production design takes adidas running to another level. We don't get a chance to see too many non-basketball shoes here, but this premium running shoe is certainly an eye-pleaser.
Peterflight Fila Submitted by Pietro Pellicelli Peterflight's freestyle theme looks to the forgotten Grant Hill. Perhaps with this release Fila will make a comeback to the basketball footwear industry. The name of the shoe is "Alba", the Italian word for dawn, which resembles this comeback concept in a unique word. Performance wise, this shoe features forefoot and heel visible 3Action elements for top notch cushioning; a Fila flow Shank takes care of medial support and venting underneath the foot. The upper is made with a combination of full grain leather and air mesh-no seams panels, coming from great Fila experience in running shoes. Toe area and ankle collar (which takes care of "poor" Grant's ankles) presents contrast stitching taken from late 70's Fila tennis suites and shirts for a classic style look.
Rahul XIX Low Olympic Submitted by Rahul Mahtani Rahul's freestyle is how he wanted the XIX low's to look. It features a laceless system, as well as USA Olympic colors - Red, white, blue and a hint of silver/gold. Just in time for this summer's Games at Athens.
Ahmad Zia Submitted by Ahmad Zia Next generation LBJ is a composite design of the best in the game. The arch support shaping from the Kobe, the heel counter from the Iverson AI6, the toe box from the Air Jordan 18, and the overall shape of the Vince Carter VCIII.
Take special note at the intergrated HUMMER H2 featuers:
  • the hummer inspired grill on the toe box
  • the chrome guard railings along the ankle support
  • the limited edition HUMMER yellow color way

Ruben Alvarez Submitted by Sindri Siguršsson
Today's post pays tribute to the surprising but successful season for the Denver Nuggets. Carmelo's colors are flying proudly even a month after his theme. Ruben's Team Hardrock is the official team shoe of the 2004-2005 Denver Nuggets. If Nike have a problem getting everyone under contract, perhaps they can get Melo to pull some strings with his teammates.

Meanwhile, Sindri's Nike Air Electrofit was inspired by a sandal and desire to create a new high-tech way to lock down the shoe to the feet. How exactly does it work? You are going to have to ask Sindri about that one. We are sure he's got all the details planned out .
Nestor Hernandez Submitted by Nestor Hernandez Are we ready for some football? It may only be June but Nestor is certainly ready. The Jordan Team Turf Strong is an all out Turf shoe exclusively designed for Warren Sapp, a new member of the Oakland Raiders. The black and silver colorway includes past Jordan cues like carbon fiber, #99 and the Jumpman.
