KicksGuide's 2003 Luxury Shoe of the Year Award goes to the shoe released in the past year with the best luxury. The results factor in online voting, overall comfort, fit & support, quality, reliability, cushioning, engineering, style and breathability. The recognition is given to the model line as a whole and not any individual colorway.

WINNER - Air Jordan XVIII

When it comes to luxury, the Air Jordan XVIII stands out from the rest. The Lamborghini inspired XVIII is the ultimate ride for comfort and extravagance. The fine Italian dress shoe details, carbon-fiber based Comfort Control Plate and rich pedigree to ultra luxury & performance footwear puts the XVIII in a lustrous class of its own. The XVIII received high marks for its side vent design cue (although it was more form than function), carbon-fiber accents and a smooth yet elegant flow from toe to heel. The Air Jordan XVIII also benefited from a weak field. With the absence of the Nike Ultraposite, the XVIII was the only one from the Ultra-Luxury & Performance class of shoes at $175 retail. The closest competitor was the Shox VC II, which fell well short for the honor.
