| Overview: The XIII proved to be everything the XII was not. Soft, luxuriously comfortable and high performance. Inspired by the panther, the XIII is low, mean, sleek and cat-like. Colorways are fantastic, covering on all the best color combos the Jordan has to offer - even introduced the chutney/ginger concept. XIII also officially brought back the low-top versions. Only slight bit of hinderance is that the traction can be slippery on dusty surfaces. Among collectors, the XIII has had a cult following. The retro colorways launched in 2005 confirmed the shoe's popularity by selling strongly at a $150 price tag. The limited release of the black/altitude colorway forced fans to camp out and aftermarket values to skyrocket. Media coverage became nationwide and Jordan Brand is taking advantage of the hype and seriously considering future 'quickstrikes'. Summer releases of the Maize's will only further add to the hype. The good news is that there's also a lot of substance behind the XIII - as it is one of the highest ranking shoe in OVERALL category. |
