2006 Artist Series Contest (January): Apple IPOD Nano
The year starts off with another off topic inspiration. Many of you have received cool Christmas gifts this Holiday Season. One of the most popular gadgets on the market is the Apple IPOD Nano. In terms of design, function and styling, the IPOD is as good as they come. The new Nano offers super thin and lightweight design. Using that as your inspiration, design an ultra lightweight performance basketball shoe.

I thought of that one first, but even by Nike's own admission, it is not a great shoe. It was not a waste though. Simply following through on an idea is good even if the result is bad. There are always lessons to learn along the way.
