So the deadline was on the 21st. I figured it was a week like last month and didn't get my submission in until the 23rd. I sent it in but I'm guessing they can't do anything about it now. I worked really hard on it so I guess I'll just post it and hope you guys enjoy it whether you can vote on it or not.
The Nike Recoil is a whole new approach to cushioning which combines a modern style as well as modern function by spreading out the impact and allowing you to continue your stride in one fluid motion. The Recoil system is made up of a stiff corrugated rubber insole which moves freely with your stride. Supporting the insole is a high endurance elastic strap that is fused in the center of both the sole and the insole to provide a more responsive ride as well as a firmer impact. The insole is lined for comfort and the upper is composed of leather and breathable mesh for maximum ventilation. The Recoil provides not only great performance, but an individual style intended to rival that of the Shox.

Nice job Jason, a ton of work on that rendering. Really nice job. The rendering is very clean and nice!Design is very cool, I can see of the LeBron 2-3 on the toebox. Lovin the midsole, cool stuff! The booty is a bit too safisticated if you ask me, maybe some simplifying would do it good. And maybe try to fit it into one angle at the top. The tech sopunds cool, one thing rubber insole, might be too heavy. Good job, love it! |

barbu...
your render is great. the materials and textures are very clean, yet I really understand what is going on. The shape looks a bit more "sb" than running. I would take a look at the sole, particularly around the arch area. Then the concept would be killer.
john...
i saw your stuff on core last night...crazy man. i am digging the sketch, but i think you are getting less credit than you deserve for the final render. i think those stitch details are really doing it for your concpet. it brings that agressiveness out while reinforcing the idea of segmentation.
sweet stuff so far.

Barbu: Nice job! I think this is one of the best works we've seen from you, though i can agree with david that it needs a bit more work to be a running bottom. No flex grooves or tread? Very nice job though!
John: Great gob! As I said on core, I like this a lot and the thought behind it. I just noticed how the outsole ruber rolls up between the flex grooves but isn't attached. This is a nice touch. Would like to see hw it works. I think this is going to be one of the best months we have ever seen on kg!

yeah TH..i wrapped the outsole rubber up in each groove for the midsole so as to allow for the decoupling of each section...think its a cool idea...don't know how that would feel/perform. |

Hey everybody! Just wanted to wish everybody goodluck on making the finals!... the first two so far prove to be worthy of a winner... BARBU: I really like the context of your project. It is like taking Nike+ to the next level incorporating even more technology but making it realistic enough to be accomplished. JOHN: your rendering is awesome, both the sketch and computer rendering... I can see an innate talent for seeing flow and creativity in the lines you choose to create. awesome. |

I agree, these submissions deserve a lot more than that... I'm guessing the criteria is not of interest of some of the voters... Let's be fair everybody. |
